Heather Waugh Pitts

Designer / Ceramic Artist

Having grown up surrounded by the industrial landscapes of oil tank fields and woods, my inspirations for what I hand-build out of clay are reflected in my art. I build sculptures that are non functional/functional art, as well as expressing simplicity, transience and imperfection.
These one of a kind pieces are influenced by the starkness and beauty of living in an isolated blue collar working village.
Creating  surface tension from mixing glazes to mimic landscapes are referenced in my work.

Elements of nature and art are the basic influences when  beginning a new project. Working with colour, fabrics and handmade objects, a unique look, pertaining  to the client, is woven together that is both old world and urban edge. Not being afraid to give a space the right balance of creativity and personality. Always with an eye for the one of a kind.

Over the past sixteen years, projects include commercial stores, cathedrals, resort and private residential homes design...designing a mixed commercial/residential community for approx 1500 people, developed around a proposed European town square.

A diverse background in designing rooms, kitchens, bath spaces, furniture, objects and drapery design; buying trips , painting /ceramic commissions all work to elevate a clients space, into a  curated, unique warm place to live and thrive.

As an Artist,  well travelled, these journeys have influenced how I  visualize client's design needs.
" A beautifully artfully layered room that draws you in and reinforces who the client is." That is my goal.

" Building long-term relationships with clients." To me, that is the success.
